Forbidden Love

by Kimberly Day   Jun 6, 2005

There once was a goddess of light,
She stood for happiness and everything that was right.
She protected the mortals on Earth and from above.
There once was a demon of evil,
He stood for crime and everything un-civil.
He only listened to his master's laws.
Distress and havoc he was to cause.

One day the demon and goddess's lives intertwined.
And by laws there two fighting were what all beings should find.
But instead of there two killing each other,
Two beings forbidden to become friends,
Became lovers instead.

They were together for centuries,
Pretend hate the publicly did send.
But the demon's master knew,
He was determined to make their relationship end.
He sent his army to destroy the gods and goddesses alike.

The forbidden lovers knew they had to stop the fight,
They both now stood for what was right.
The goddess took flight to help her kind,
The demon went to his master hoping mercy he could find.

The demon begged and begged,
The master only wanted to forbidden love to end.
But the demon refused and the master realized,
Even he could not make their love die.
So in his anger the master ordered for the demon's head.

The gods and goddesses did win the overall battle.
But when the goddess of light found that her beloved was dead,
No more happiness into her life was fed.

After that night,
The mortals never saw her radiant light.
She never returned to her now dark Earth.
She stayed in the skies far above.
She had died inside for she had no light.
She had lost the biggest of fights.
Never again would she see or speak to anyone below or above,
Of her now forbidden love.
