Out of the Darkness

by Keili   Jun 6, 2005

She wants to remember the pain.
Everybody’s forcing happiness on her.
But oh, how so vain,
It was the pain that made her happy.

It was there she was comfortable.
There she could hide
Her world was misery
From the remarks so snide.

In pain she was numb
Now he caresses her
Rubbing her, finger over thumb
In his eyes she sees the love.

She doesn’t want it
She can’t give it back.
She won’t have it
She knows she’ll hurt him.

He loves her so much.
She hates it.
Happiness overwhelms her
She can’t go back to her dark corner.

Deliberately, she breaks things off
She tells him he is the one she hates.
She leaves him in his lonesome room
His heart, she knows she breaks.

He calls her and tells her he’ll love her always.
She knows the hurt and love in his voice.
She feels it too.
Her head spins through a looney maze.

Both reach for weapons
He for his gun, she for her knife.
In a split second both are gone
Gone into the midst of night.

She back to her corner of darkness
He to a place to heal.
Their souls meet one last time
and they share true love’s first kiss.

They were found, both with a note
saying they’ll love them till they die.
They buried them together as
Fate hummed a lovely suicide lullaby.
