My Head vs. My Heart & I

by Cindy   Jun 6, 2005

~"My head tells me that loving him is wrong,
'He's no good, can't you see?',
How you truly care for him,
Doesn't phase him in the least,
He doesn't see the tears you cry,
But if he did he certainly wouldn't care,
He would turn his back and walk away,
and pretend you weren't there,
The stars in the sky, they hear your prayers,
You wish for him every night,
Don't you see how your wish isn't coming true,
Even they know I'm right!"

~"OK, OK, I hear what you're saying,
I know you can be smart,
but I get advice from other places,
the most fragile place, my heart,
It reminds me of the good times,
and how nice he used to be,
how he's capable of caring again,
because he used to care about me,
My heart reminds me of what could be,
and keeps the thoughts of what ifs close,
It won't let me forget how good i used to feel,
and who I loved the most"

~"So maybe my head is right,
and all of your thoughts are true,
but unless you can make a heart forget,
I don't know If I will ever be able to listen to you!"
