I loved you since before we met,
and will until I die,
I try and get through every day,
but will always wonder why,
You were given me but only for,
the shortest space of time,
and then I realise that if you really can't be mine,
You were given me to show me,
that true love does exist,
I knew that when I met you,
and by how much you are missed,
And though your gone I'm thankful,
you were part of my life,
and even though I may never be your girlfriend or your wife,
I will be able to look back,
and think of you and smile,
and tell people I knew true love,
if only for a little while.
