Lost in Dream

A Blue Jay came tapping at my window
For a second it stared profoundly into my naked eyes
Captured my soul and caught me by surprise

I rapidly blinked questioning if my vision was at a blur
I have anticipated for this moment forever to occur

The night wore a blanket covered in the jewels of an ancient king
Above, heaven smiled as you cradled me beneath your injured wings

No second in your clutch is much too long
My long lost but never forgotten love again be found

Peacefully the silence is broken by the rustle of an old forgotten tree
Standing strong just moments ago clothed in the colors of full bloom
Now alone and exposed shivering beneath the shinning moon

I awake and realize this is nothing more that just a dream
An imagination created by my longing heart
Precious time in sleep that forgets we are apart
