Immortal friend

Meeting you was more than chance
It was the beginning to a long unexpected romance

It was no different than the story tales you read in books
It was overpowering, lustful, based on more than looks

Your warmth brought life to my every bone
You promised never to leave me cold or alone

You took away all the pain and anger I held deep inside
And showed me that in you I could confide

I admit I was doubtful about us from the start
Until you opened up my heart

What we have can never be replaced
There is just too much that we had to face

Still today you are my strength when it’s hard to maintain
You are the magic that wipes away my every pain

What you mean to me you may never really know
Just hoping that with this poem it will show
