Almost

One dark
Rainy night
I almost lost
The love of my life

He was going home
So he could come see me
He was going so fast and
Flipped his truck and hit a tree

I know God was watching
Over my baby
But the fear of losing him
Made me go crazy

I feel so helpless
Cuz there's nothing I can do
I feel like he needs me
And that this is my cue

My cue to cherish
The love that almost slipped away
And to love him
More not less everyday

When I got that
Dreadful call
I felt my heart sink
I felt it fall

I'm glad he's ok
And nothing went wrong
Because I don't want
To live the rest of my life alone!!

This is dedicated to my boyfriend TJ who had a very bad wreck Saturday night(6-11-05) and broke his collar bone and bruised his back they thought that the fluid build up around his heart would kill him so I'm thankful God watched over him and that he is safe!

    This poem is really touching. It is so sad but I am very glad that he is still alive. Sometimes things happen in life that one can't control...you can only count on God. I think that your writing was smooth. Your poem "almost" brought tears. It is well written.
