British summer

by katie!   Jun 15, 2005

Its ten degrees and the women are already in mini skirts
From the dusty cupboard come the loud Hawaiian shirts
A ray of sun and everyone’s wearing sunglasses
Sitting in the beer garden with mum and dad as time passes

(Chorus)
Another British summer, another pint please
Sun drifting in and out, a constant tease
Another British summer, no football this year
Sitting in the garden with another pint of beer

All the foreigners wrapped up thinking its cold
Peeling skin and fake tan everywhere on young and old
Playing rock music on the broken radio
Another couple walk past, way too much on show

(Chorus)
Another British summer, another pint please
Sun drifting in and out, a constant tease
Another British summer, no football this year
Sitting in the garden with another pint of beer

Socks and sandals, and frightening ice cream vans
"Here comes the child catcher, no wait it’s the ice cream man"
Everyone floods out onto the beaches, and on the pier
Sitting in the sunshine with a half full glass of beer

(Chorus)
Another British summer, another pint please
Sun drifting in and out, a constant tease
Another British summer, no football this year
Sitting in the garden with another pint of beer
