Hello Stranger

by Carlee Ann   Jun 15, 2005

I used to think change was good
But now it's easy to see
The new person you have become
Doesn't appeal at all to me

I don't even know you anymore
Who are you and why?
I hate what you're doing to yourself
Why did the real you say goodbye?

There's a stranger there
Living in your mind
Not compassionate at all
But hateful and unkind

I thought I loved you
But how do you love someone you don't know?
If you still care for me
It certainly doesn't show

You treat me like I don't matter
After all I've done
You blow up at me for everything
To think I thought you were the one

I try to prevent you from falling
But you insist on jumping off the edge
You tell me one day you don't care
Then your love you pledge

So which one of you loves me?
The old or the new, which one?
If this is all a game to you,
Well, congratulations, you've won

I'm not mad or upset with you
I love you all the same
But it hurts me so deep inside
That to you I'm just a game

Please don't play me anymore
This new person is so cruel
If you decide to become you again
I'll still be the same girl

Hello stranger
Don't lie, just be true
Just answer this one question
Who are you?

Wow, that was a powerful write, great job. People change for all kinds of reasons, sometimes for the better sometimes not. Give it time see what happens. Awesome write
