He Just Let Her Fall

They could never be together
he told her that right from the start
he said that it just wouldn't work
but still he had her heart

he even had a girlfriend
but that didn't matter at all
he knew she'd love him
and he just let her fall

he meant more to her than she ever would to him
but she didn't even care
she wanted someone to love
she needed him to be there

she was so happy in his arms
pretending she was his one and only
that they'd always be together
he'd never leave her lonely

she could never tell him
that she'd feel weak without his touch
and be lost if she couldn't hear his voice
she loved him so much

but he'd never feel the same
she always knew that though
tried to act like she didn't care
and never let her real feelings show
