The Woes of Summer School

by Carlee Ann   Jun 17, 2005

*This isn't that good... but I tried. I'm not in summer school myself, I'm an 4.0 kid, but I always wondered what it would be like to be in it. My brother is and a few of my good friends are... So this goes out to them!*

I sit here in boredom
Doodling and daydreaming
Not paying attention or learning
Just simply being

I try hard to focus
But I get distracted so easy
I have ADD, i swear...
It's hard to interest me

The students around my desk
Struggle to do the same
But they just daydream away
About freedom, friends, and fame

I'm here because I failed to care
About the work assigned to be done
I thought I had beat the teachers
But they came back and won

Outside the sun is shining
But I'm locked in my prison
I have to pass this class
If my diploma is to be given

I don't care about quadratic formulas
I don't need to define prose
I'm not going to need to count electrons
No matter where in life I go

Only a few more weeks
Of being treated like a fool
The teacher just asked me a question...
Oh, the woes of summer school.

Oh this is truly awesome!! I remember when I had to go to summer school once. I am proud of you for being a 4.0. But you did get the feelings of summer school written so very well. Awesome job
