Watched and Experimented

by Kendall   Jun 19, 2005

Out there I'm a bird
In here I’m a lab mouse
Watched and experimented
Scrutinized and humiliated
But one step to the left
And I’m free from the lab,
I can watch the birds fly by
Ignoring their hunger.
They see me and smile,
I long for their acceptance.
But one step to the right
And I’m tortured once more.
Back to my wheel,
It keeps turning and turning
With no where to go
As I watch the same story
Replay over and over.
When does it stop?
Where does it end?
Well little mouse,
That’s for the doctor to decide.
And if you can't be happy,
You might as well pretend.
