Your My Daddy

You were there to see my first steps,
You were there when I cried.
You would always be here,
To tuck me in at night.
You would always be there,
To pick me up at school.
Teach me how to behave,
And listen to their rules.

Your my daddy,
And I love you so much.
Your my daddy,
And know when things get tough.
I'll always be your little girl,
Right here by your side.
Your my daddy,
and I'll love you all my life.

And slowly I was growing up,
The years went by so fast.
Suddenly Im walking
Myself to school.
Being taught new things.
But still remembering their rules.
And when I would come home,
You were always there with smiles,
And the hugs and comfort,
I'd known my whole life.

Your my daddy,
And I love you so much.
Your my daddy,
And know when things get rough.
I'll always be your little girl,
Right here by your side.
Your my daddy,
And I'll love you all my life.

The years continued to fly by.
Look how much I've grown.
I'm watching movies,
that arent just rated 'g'
I've learned to play sports,
Not just hide and seek.
I can go out with my friends,
Not needing to hold your hand.
But I hope you'll always understand.

Your my daddy,

**I dedicate this poem to my dad, who I lost about a week ago to his fight with cancer..love you forever daddy :(**

    My heart goes out to you. It's truly a hard thing to deal with when it's one of your parents. I lost my Mom to cancer 8 yrs. ago, so I know what you are going through. Beautiful dedication filled with love with a very special Dad. Well done. I know he's proud to have you for a daughter. He will be in my thoughts and prayers and God Bless you and Your Family, He will give you strength!!!!!
