Another Full Moon

by DeAnna   Jun 22, 2005

She was left alone.
It was just her and her dad.
Nothing good could happen tonight.
It was destined to be bad.

She sat alone in her room,
just hoping he wouldn't come in.
This happened about a month ago,
and here it is happening again.

She stared out the window,
looking into the sky,
Just wondering what he's going to do,
or what he'll want to try.

This happened last time
that rose a full moon,
but she knew this time
that he would kill her soon.

Each time the full moon came,
a monster came to life.
This is the reason that they're alone,
and he doesn't have a wife.

That happened three years ago,
when the spell began.
And she knows she's next,
because of last time when she ran.

She thought to get away
would set her free,
but he caught up to her,
and put her mind where he thought it should be.

He thought he would set her straight,
so he went and grabbed a knife.
She could just sit and stare,
afraid for her life.

This had happened before,
but he didn't stop this time.
And for her to run away
would be the ultimate crime.

She closed her eyes
as he lunged toward her.
She knew this was it,
she was dead for sure.

The knife got her
right in the chest.
Her daddy knew just the right spot
that would kill her the best.

They both were there on the floor.
She was cold as stone.
He had finally done it
and was now all alone.

This is just what he deserved.
He should have seen it before.
Before he got worked up,
and couldn't take any more.

He had temper tantrums,
but this was the last.
He ended it all, just like he did to her.
It happened so fast.

He grabbed the knife,
but for himself this time.
He would put himself out.
It would be the perfect crime.

Two lives taken.
Both taken too soon.
All because of daddy's tantrum
on another full moon.
