In the cold

You say you love me
but to find out you're pretending
this crushed everything
especially my happy ending

how could you leave me "lost and forgotten"
in this harsh world
alone, cold, and frostbitten

what did i do
did i make you mad
i even wrote all my poems, mainly about you...
you were all i had

how could i have been blind
how could i have been dumb
i saw all the signs
but now I'm just numb

cold is my heart
and untold will be my pain
I'm freezing to death being in the cold
and the rain

but now that you're gone
i have much better goals to pursue
and when I'm on top, the last thing i think
about won't be you

so when the years go by
and my memories of you grow old
while I'm enjoying my hot new life
i want you to think of what you could of had with the one you left
"out in the cold"
