Falling Shadow :. Part Three

by Abby   Jun 27, 2005

I woke alone, to the sound of the wind moving through the trees. My head was a little clearer. Then I remembered what I dreamed last night.

I layed back down , closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I got up and started walking. I didn’t know where I was going or what I was looking for, but I needed a change.

After a few minutes I came to a pond. The water was so clear, and as smooth as glass. I placed my fingertips onto the surface and watched the ripples move out and slowly disappear. I imagined all of my memories just fade away like the ripples… but that would be too easy.

A shadow moved from across the pond and the image of the hooded figure came to my mind once again.
‘He’s watching me’ I thought.
Why? If he wanted to kill me he would have done it by now. I pushed the image out of my head and forced myself to focus on what I was going to do… but it was hopeless, I had no where to go. I layed down at the edge of the pond and let sleep overcome me. Another dream… but this time the hooded figure was in it.

I was standing on a bridge ready to jump into the rushing water. I hesitated. I looked to my right and he was right there. His blue eyes cutting through me. I climbed off the ledge, and slowly backed away form the bridge, and ran. I forgot the dream as soon as I awoke.

To be continued
