Covered with a smile

Under my cover and under my skin
This is wear it all begins
The pain and the strife
The fight through life

In my eyes you can see it
The anguish from every hit
In my heart I can feel it
The nuisance from every slit

On the outside are lies
Covered by a smile full of cries
A life that is hidden
A life that to tell is forbidden

Long sleeves and sweaters to hide the suffer
Life just keeps getting toucher
Another hit and another bruise
So hard trying to cope with this abuse

Maybe one day it will all end
Then I won't have to pretend
My smiles can be real
and I won't have to hide what I feel...
