Every Single Day

by Mike   Jul 1, 2005

PART 1

Every single day,
I walk on this street.
Right past this girl,
I have yet to meet.

Every single day,
She walks alone.
From somewhere around here,
To a place unknown.

Every single day,
She looks at me.
And I get the same thought,
That I want us to be.

Every single day,
I'm too nervous to talk.
So I just turn,
And keep with my walk.
-------------------------------
But today was different,
Just not the same.
Today I would talk to her,
And find out her name.

As I got ready,
For that different day.
I thought of exactly,
What I should say.

I'd ask who she was,
Maybe.... I think.
Or maybe I'd ask her,
Just out for a drink.

So I set out that day,
On that very same street.
And it would be different,
Because today we would meet.

I planned this day out,
All in my head.
But she wasn't alone,
But with a guy instead.

I felt so stupid,
As if I waited too much.
And my heart was crushed,
As I saw their lips touch.

I walked right past,
Without saying a thing.

I hope their future would be good.
And have only good to bring.

The very next day,
I saw that same guy.
I saw them in the corner,
As he was rubbing her thigh.

As I looked closer,
At first just a blur.
But then I looked more,
And it wasn't her.

I only thought a second,
And then I knew.
That their love,
Just couldn't be true.

As they left,
Because it was late.
I stopped him and asked,
Is this how you date?

He said, "I don't know you",
And to leave him be.
I said your cheating,
Don't lie to me.

He said, "So what?"
"Want some of this?"
I said, "Does she deserve it?"
"I saw you two kiss."

He swung at my face,
And he barely missed.
At first I was fine,
But now I was pissed.

He missed again,
And pulled out a knife.
This was no ordinary fight.
I was in a fight for my life.

Luckily for me,
He was not very skilled.
For if he was,
I would've been killed.

I grabbed his hand,
And turned it around.
Drove it in,
And he dropped to the ground.

I left him that night,
Right there on the ground.
And when the cops came,
Thats where he was found.

When the ambulance got there,
He was pronounced dead.
With cheater written in marker,
All over his head.

---Sorry for the length, and I'm making part 2. Need some time though, and NO not a true story :)---
