A New Day

by Tamon G   Jul 2, 2005

On Sundays I would sit by my window
and think of beautiful things
to say to you.
Not things that will make you
fall in love with me, but
just sweet things that were true.

I would put in my Marvin Gaye CD,
and just listen to his tunes.
And the birds would join in with
their chorus sitting on a branch
enjoying the month of June.

How I love you?
Is a question that keeps repeating
in my head.
My love for you is no longer just
contained in my heart,
it has spread.

Then waters droplets started to
hit the window like the sky
was playing the role of my tears.
I started crying because of a quick
thought of me being alone,
my greatest fear.

So, I look at her picture,
a smile that can bring joy
to a person's heart,
who is suffering from depression.
I read a quote from
an unknown author,
"You can't love anyone until
you understand that you can't
love everyone",
my first love lesson.

The rain stops falling from the sky,
with sunlight that stretches as far
as I can see.
The sun's warmth surrounds my
body, and
it felt a lot like you holding
me.

On Mondays I would wake up
by my window
and look to the sky then look to
my bed, and I would say.
"Good morning sky,
good morning my love,
its time to start a new day".
