The Reason I Smile

by Dee   Jul 3, 2005

A pretty little girl
With beautiful blue eyes
Can put a smile on my face
Even when I want to cry

She cups her hands upon my cheeks
and smiles when she looks at me
She doesn't see the sadness
or the troubles that I see

When she wakes up every morning I ask "did you sleep well"
I smile at her and give her hugs
When inside I feel like hell

She doesn't know my sadness
I hide the tears within
No matter what I am feeling
I look at her and grin

She tells me that she loves me
And she instantly warms my heart
Just like she always has
From the very start

Loving her keeps me going
It gives me the will I need to survive
For a mother's love is everlasting
This love will never die!

SO GOOD, I cried when I read this. My daughter (Isabella) is only 3 months, but I feel the same way. All the negative stuff going on in my life has so much, yet absolutely nothing to do with her. I love her with every ounce of my being, and its her that keeps me going...cuz if I don't, who will?
