What you deserve

by lisa   Jul 3, 2005

You tell me you love me, and my heart pounds with excitement
The smile, so sweet, broadens across your face.
As if to embrace a social cause with eager and willing attitude
You embrace my body with your arms, a usual expression of you affection.
You lean in for another kiss, I shiver with great wanting
You tell me you love me once again and my world lights up.
Then why, when you so persistently attempt to sweep me off my feet
Must I have your confidence wavered with my pessimistic attitude?
With these hostile acts and words I crash your world to the ground
But no more, no longer, shall I act ungrateful
For my love and my heart cannot and will not allow it.
I love you and that’s all I shall show
For that’s what you deserve and what you should know.
