Stupid friends

by cant sleep   Jul 4, 2005

They said I deserved something for myself,
So they said an awkward picture would be something great to put on my shelf.
They said they had to do it very soon,
And had to take it in my room.

I didn’t know if this was for real,
But with my worries, my lips remained sealed.
My friends were just so nice to me,
They planned their plot so carefully.

Around my neck they put a noose,
But they said they’d make it very loose.
In my room they stood me on a chair,
While they ran around and continued to prepare.

A camera, a spotlight, and even a blue screen,
Made me feel like I was in a blairwitch scene.
They focused the camera, and told me to play dead,
A figure of speech, it was what they said.

They said they’d count to three, my excitement started to die.
And in its place was worry, though I did not quite know why.
I looked at them, they looked at me, now soaking my fear in,
And upon each of their faces, their sat a retched grin.

“1” they said, it all makes sense! These people aren’t really my friends!
“2” they said, I realized I was closer to the end.
“3!” my chair was kicked, and towards the ground I fell,
but I still saw the flash, before the demons dragged me to hell.

They set me up, kept me occupied, so their plot I could not find.
I was deceived by their smiles, I cant believe I was so blind!
They made me look pretty, just so I could die.
They even took a picture of me hanging me high.

*this is a metaphor.
Paragraph one: my friends told me everything was going to be ok and they made me feel special.
Two: I didn’t know if I should join their “scheme”, but I did,
Three: my friends got me so into it, that I couldn’t move, or else, but I had to move, or else.
Four: they focused everything on me, even gave me a hint, but I didn’t take it.
5: as it got closer to what we were going to do, I got really nervous. But, still didn’t make a move to stop.
6: as we did it, I figured out what they were doing, it was too late. I should have backed out earlier. They wanted me to get in trouble.
7: I got in trouble, and they had everyone looking at me, and I got in trouble.
I guess I didn’t know when to stop. *

I liked it. Confusing at first but well written. Sometimes you can't trust even the people that you think will be there until the end...life's crappy...and the cards it deals.
