Broken Mirror, Broken Soul

by Just Lucy   Jul 4, 2005

I'm looking within
this old broken mirror
and all i can see
is my old broken soul
torn up and frayed
and burnt all around
my soul, should i finally set it free?
my insides are thundering down
the rain is pouring
the lightning keeps striking
my heart is drenched
and slowly drowning
suffocating in the storm of my broken soul
looking in this broken mirror
all i can see is my broken self
breaking away slowly
soon i will no longer be
ever hated yourself so much
that walking the streets at day was a chore
always being laughed at
just because your not the 'perfect girl'
insults i can no longer take
compliments i can't recall
can't remember being complimented, i have been here for 16 years now and still i refuse to let myself down
i am what people hate to be
i am what people hate to see
its me all alone
with a broken mirror
and a broken soul
and soon enough
a broken me

this is my favorite of all of yours so far. I think you really captured the emotions you were feeling and were able to express them. Excellent work.

That was beyond a powerful poem.. there is no word to describe it (in a good way, of course!)
I don't believe there's a "perfect girl" that people should think of. There is no one out there who I hate to see.
Just letting you know that someone's here for you... who doesn't think like that.
    Hope all is well,
