My ghost

by Bernadette   Jul 8, 2005

Seems we put this little matter to rest,
And you fought away your little pest,
But there is still something that’s saying no,
Saying I should not have let you go.
Fighting with the strength of denial,
Putting up a fake and flawless smile.

You ran away and said you could not handle this anymore,
You said your heart had never felt this sore,
But baby since you left I have been broken,
My thoughtless words have left me unspoken,
Fallen beyond the lowest hell,
Left me here confused and unwell.

You can never fix that fight,
You can never come home at night,
You promised me you would return
Today I should not be seeing you burn,
Come back to me my holly ghost,
Cause you’re the one I miss most.
