A drunken dad

by Cristy F   Jul 10, 2005

You weren't there the day I was born
I hope your shriveled little heart was torn

You weren't there when I sang my first song
God I cried for so long

You weren't there when I went to the hospital
I sure hope you had a ball

You weren't there the day I turned 14
How could you of been so mean?

You weren't there my entire life
Its because of you I used the knife

You were to busy to even come home
you were out drinking while I was alone

All I ever wanted was to be your little girl
You never realized that you were my entire world

And for some strange reason I pray it will you will stop
That you'd see me crying and the bottle would drop

But as I watch the clock strike 2,3,4 all of a sudden you open the door,
And what to my wandering eyes do I see, my drunken father stumbling past me.....
