Silent

by Kendall   Jul 10, 2005

What kind of world is this
Where one can't even say hi to their neighbor
Worried that they will actually answer.
Fear of conversing due to endless possibilities
Of questions with unwanted answers.
But when we do want the answer to those
Hard to reach questions, the passivist comes out
Cowering behind their eyes, afraid of their doubt.
Silence is heard across the boards even when
The reciever is screaming their name
Saying "Wake up man! I'm here to listen..."
They remain numb to reality and undeniable shame.
