The Train (part 1)

by Kane Burden   Jul 11, 2005

It was a normal Thursday morning
Started off with my morning coffee
and placed myself in the regular position on the couch
glued to the morning news.

Breakfast, shower and grooming
was all taken care of by 7:45
and i was catching the train by 8 o'clock

The train was full
a familiar sight
I managed to get a seat though
before the distorted fright

Quite a Big man, stood beside me
In the front carriage, towards Baker Street
He was wearing a suit and his forehead was gleaming
People were calm, and reading the metro

Todays headlines, the Olympic bid is ours
Humiliating the French, after a failed third attempt
i shed a smile, whilst listening to the music
and stared at the faces ahead.

Coming into Kings Cross, was running a little late
Only a few stops further though
Before embarking
on a long day ahead.

The train started moving again
My eyes, trying to focus on the platform
as the train rushed on by.
