I knew things were not

i never thought it would
end like this

that night we were on the
phone for an hour or so
having one of our wordless
conversations about our days

i remember when our love
was strong we'd stay on the
phone all night long talking
like we'd been together forever

when it was only a week or so
you used to tell me i was
beautiful smart and funny
that no other girl could
steal your heart.

then one day i call you up
and you said it was over
i asked why and you replied
its not you its me "family problems"

with that i said OK and
hung up the phone crying
all night long then i realized
theres plenty of other fish
in the sea...
