For the One I Love

by *~*Gina*~*   Jul 17, 2005

This is for you,
for all that you've done,
I love you,
even though our hearts are not one.

You said we were friends,
nothing more then that,
and that was the end,
no more discussion of that.

You said I was nice,
you don't know how good that felt,
Thoughts bouncing like rolling dice,
I thought my heart would melt.

You gave me courage,
you swept me off my feet,
you took off my bandage,
so that life, I could meet.

You taught me to be myself,
to always be unique,
even with little wealth,
it doesn't matter what people think

You taught me to fly,
being the very best guide,
the wind beneath me when we were so high,
even when the world around us seemed to have died.

You lit up my world,
with the greatest of ease,
after my life had curled,
and I'd dropped to my knees.

You were always there,
was someone to talk to,
you made me float on air,
even when my heart was like goo.

This is for you,
for all that you've done,
I love you,
even though our hearts are not one.
