Depth

by she died screaming.   Jul 17, 2005

She was crippled
But only her body was cracked
Pure awareness
Was all she lacked

No one understood
How she lived her life
Sorrows pain
And strife

It won’t even begin
To explain
Slitting her wrists
Wasn’t even pain

1000 marks
50,000 scars
1,000,000 lies
Pretty soon she’ll be behind bars

A mental hospital
Was her next step
But her last cut
Had to much depth

I like the final line, it has a resounding, ringing effect, it holds through in my mind. I think it is powerfully blatant, but i think an occasional elaboration could delve thicker into the topic.
