Let's Compare Scars

by Emma Carnage   Jul 18, 2005

Let’s compare scars
Open up to each other
Like never before
I know yours are worse
And the inner ones run deeper
But if you open up to me
I’ll tell you all about mine

All those marks on my skin
The ones that still won’t fade
I’ll tell you all about them
Even the ones I tried to hide
And kept secret from most
Let me tell you their stories
And bring you into my world

Let’s compare scars
Not just the outer ones
But the ones on our souls
Tell each other all our secrets
The darkest from our past
And possibly cry from those words
But I’ll shed those tears willingly
Because they’ll be for you

Go ahead and break down with me
Show me your past
And I’ll take you to mine
Leaving out the good for later
But showing you the worst I can
To bring you closer to me
And a little more into my world

Look at my wrists
Look at my arms
Look at my legs
Look at my sides
Look at my stomach
Look at all the old cuts
Then look at my soul
Let’s compare scars
