Day vs. Night

He's clever, and funny
We've got common goals
He's got my same mindset
We're identical souls

We fit like a jigsaw
Our hearts are as one
Each moment is lit
By the light of the sun

But now that I'm alone,
I see the moon, white and new
The sun shines on him,
But the moon shines on you

As I live in the day
I look not to the night
but as the sun goes away,
It gets harder to fight

So I sit and I think,
By the light of this moon so new
Not of day, not of him
But of night, and of you

Imagining journies
Through time and through space
To a sunnier day
To a happier place

To a man that I dream of
Through sun and starlight
Who isn't forgotten
Just because it is night

Because the night will be over
A new day will be
I will love him,
and he will love me

For tonight is nothing
It's just like the last
The day is the present
And the night is the past

But although it is day,
Not all will be right.
For I live in the day,
But remember the night.
