What About Me?

I liked you just a little bit,
but that was just before;
now that I have grown to you,
I want you more and more;

Now the year's close to it's end,
and soon you will be gone;
Broken hearts have learned to mend,
I just hope I will go on;

After graduation where will you be,
I know about you but what about me;
You'll go to college and become a great Marine,
I love you a lot, even more than you have seen;

I know you will soon be going away,
and I think about it every day;
Love for me, you may lack,
but I still wonder if you'll come back;

Soon you will not be here,
and this is what I've always feared;
I guess I'll get over it, eventually,
you'll be successful, but what about me;
