Confused

by Mallory   Jul 18, 2005

As she walks in the rain the negative remarks repeat in her mind.
Confused
She gets advice: “work like you don’t need the money and love like you’ve never been hurt” She looks to the sky in a daze as she tries to figure out what’s there: ‘drenched clothes, drenched spirits, at least try to care’. “That wont happen” she persuades herself.
Confused
By the end of the day she finds herself tired, lonely, and reading her bible.
Tired because she has ‘worked’ all day,
Lonely because there is no one they’re to help her through life,
And reading her bible because she is confused.
Confused
She wants to know why her life must be this way? Why has this happened to her? Why can’t she be normal?
Confused
She reads, “I have learned to be content what ever the circumstances. I know what it is to have plenty and I know what it is to be in need…I can do everything through him who gives me strength”
She smiles but still…
Confused
She wakes up the next morning, smiling happily.
She gets out of her bed, walks over to her window peacefully. As she opens it and takes a big gulp of the morning air, she smiles.
She is not confused anymore because she knows she has life.
