Dawn

by Matthew Guitor   Jul 19, 2005

The birds chirp their happy song,
The grasshoppers hop along.
The sun rises over the mountains,
The rivers flow like fountains.
The animals awake,
Ready to take,
On this world and all its glories,
But I sit here wrapt in sorrys,
I hurt you again,
But this time deeper within,
I cannot enjoy this miracle of dawn,
Knowing that today you might be gone.
