I remember the day
when you left for work
you wore black pants
had on a white shirt

I kissed you goodbye
you left and drove off
But something told me
that bye wasn't enough

I waited and waited
for you to come home
I wonder where you are
I'm all alone

I wait by the phone
and wait for your call
It's a quarter past ten
I lean on the wall

I'm so exhausted
But I want to wait
i'll wait for you
Even if it's so late

Finally a car comes
and drives up the street
A police man comes out
I drop to my feet

I wake in minutes
and ask where you are
The police man said
your husband's been hit by a car

He suffered with blood loss
and died in the hospital
Still in shock
I become Hysterical

The police man calms me down
and says that i must rest
he said "After All...
