One final tear fell from her eye
"Today I know I shall Die"
The words rang out is shame and sorrow
I knew for her, there was no tomorrow
She reached for my shaking hand
This was pain I couldn't stand
I got up and slowly backed away
In my heart I could hardly say
All The words I needed to say
To keep her alive one more day
Now the girl is long since gone
I should have helped her hold on
Maybe if she cried a little more
