I thought I loved you

I thought I loved you.
But trust me I care.
It's just my feelings for you aren't there.

We been together for so long.
You tell me you love me, all day long.

You want to marry me, and all that stuff. You haven't even heard those same words from my mouth.

I thought if i stayed here, with you long enough, my feelings would grow, from friendship to love.

I know this will hurt you, but it has to be said. I love you my dear, but just as a friend.

Please don't hate me, please don't cry, be happy i told you now, instead of down the line.

I will go my way, and you will go yours. Goodbye my dear friend, goodbye and farewell.
