Rest in peace dear friend

by Crimson Juliet   Jul 22, 2005

Today we look back on a tragedy
that could have been prevented
a teen who couldn't find her way
and this path that she invented

that she had chosen to end it
her beating heart just stopped
her mother walked into her room
and to the floor she dropped

as she saw her lifeless daughter
so peacefully on the floor
a million thoughts ran through her mind
I could have done something more

but as we're all standing here
gathered for that teen aged girl
we hope that she can see
she didn't have to leave this world

look at everyone around you
all the people here in mourning
all the one's she's somehow touched
and not one ever saw a warning

no giving of prized possessions
no hopeless, depressing, mood
no dropping of grades in school at all
but as the papers that morning were issued

"Name disclosed because she's a minor:
A teen aged girl took her own life
no foul play assumed
only her fingerprints on the knife.

Funeral set for Sunday
all are welcomed to attend
the eulogy will be read
by the girls dearest friend."

and here I am reading this
to all you who knew the deceased
I know you'll all agree with me when I say
may our loved one.. rest in peace
