Paranoia

by Michael   Jul 22, 2005

Any day in the park was fine with me,
but I soon had paranoia,
says the doctor,
says I fell I’m being watched,
if he only knew.

In the park,
I came down a pathway, I never saw before,
but though to walk down.

I walked further,
the sky darkened,
the wind grew,
but that strange feeling was present.

I felt someone was following me,
but I thought it was in my mind.

I walked further,
yet, I keep hearing my name,
faster and faster,
and so does my walking.

I then hear footsteps,
I look back,
but only a pathway was there.

I then heard ,
from near my ear,
a chant so foul,
and wanted to make me scream.

“Today, your eyes are pulling tricks,
but I hear you have paranoia, that I can fix.
When you least expect, I will come to you like an angel of light,
I soon look at your eyeballs...but I’ll take your sight.
Your mind, you say, is just very weary,
but you have plenty of solutions, I have a theory.
May we come after you, when the time is right,
for now what you will see, is the darkness of the sight...”

I ran as fast as I could,
but the chants were spoken,
when no one was there.

At the end of the pathway was a bridge,
I thought it was a great place to hide,
but so did they.

As I snuck in the shadows,
they grabbed me from feet to arm,
from what appeared in the shadows,
was a small girl,
in a blue dress that came to her knees,
but some reason, she had a blindfold over her eyes.

She came closer, holding her doll,
it soon said in a very scary voice,
“The eyes is what the key to the world,
now let her sight, bet yet unfurled!”

The girl took her hand at my face,
with very long fingernails,
but showed mercy,
to tell why it would help me.

Hours soon passed, I really don’t remember,
the people all gone,
but yet... I lost something,
and for some reason,
I am closing my eyes when I don’t.

I soon remember what that girl soon said,
“For now this girl is unable to see, but why,
it seems that I’ve lost, but yet gained some new eyes!”

Very good poem! I hope you can get past the paranoia you may be feeling...sounds pretty scary...I've had semi-paranoid feelings before...but nothing severe or scary like what you described.

"Another failure...i'm worthless and pathetic..." - Now I am telling you, you are NOT a failure; you are NOT worthless; and you are NOT pathetic. I will, however, tell you what you ARE. You are a gifted poet so don't stop writing, and please please please TRY to stop thinking those things about yourself.

"says I fell I’m being watched,
    if he only knew."

^ I think you meant, "says I feel..."

    ***

"I soon remember what that girl soon said,"

^It might be better if you edited one "soon" out.

And don't you dare put yourself down if those two things I pointed out were right...because everyone can improve and they were minor errors that everyone makes...and maybe just typos.

I hope one night you do experience a sweet dream...

Ths poem is something in relation of my life. I think, (before Blanco) was haunted by this girl in my dreams. She never had any vision, listened to her doll, and seemed to kill any1 the doll said. I think I have paranoia, when I feel someone is watching me specifically in most of the time, yet, I can't comprehend this dream in a poem. Another failure...i'm worthless and pathetic...
