Make Time Stop

by kiesha   Jul 22, 2005

In one month I’ll start my senior year.
But I’m left wondering, “Where do I go from here?”
Sure, high school is a lot of fun,
But what am I supposed to do when I’m done.

I have no idea what I want to do in life.
And it’s causing me my fair share of strife.
The world has pressured me to choose a career,
But again, the same question, “Where do I go from here?”

I’m only 17, I don’t know what I want to do!
There are so many choices, old and new.
How can I be expected to pick just one?
I just want to drop everything and run.

Run to the mountains, where I can never be found,
I’ll live a life that’s simple, yet profound.
But I know that this idea will never work,
I’ll get in trouble with the government or something absurd.

I’m not ready to grow up and be on my own.
Taxes, children, debt, bills, the thought makes me groan.
I don’t want to end up working with a broom and mop,
Can someone please just make time stop!!!
