Pip

She was the one we all feared,
not for ourselves, but for her.
she was the insecurity in so many,
she was the one who needed someone most,
but we were all too afraid to know her.

she turned for the worse,
again and again,
there was nothing we could say that would help,
even if we had wanted to.

now we don't know her anymore.
she's out there somewhere,
so we've heard.
we don't know if she's still alive,
we're too scared to try and find out.
we don't know what she's doing,
we don't know where she is,
we don't know if she's okay,
but we dare not ask,
for the answer could be too terrible.
we don't know her anymore,
but did we ever try?
