Hero of Lies

Standing in the darken hallway, shadows hiding my eyes
I am silent.
Not one sound do I make
I stare into darkness for I am scarred by the truth in the lies

You lied to me, you betrayed me, and you hurt me.
I hungered for the truth.
Not knowing what I would find, I persisted
Now I know the truth and I am in disbelief at what I see.

The one person I looked up to turned out to be a fake.
I am disappointed
Not knowing what to do from here, I become lost
I stare harder at the darkening night I begin to shake

Shivering in the silence all alone am I
I am deprived.
Not one moment do I look up.
My hero, at last, leaves me to cover up and hide in its lie
