Part of That Staff

*To the tune of the Little Mermaid

Look at this camp, isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think God's creation's complete?
Wouldn't you say we're the campers, the campers who have everything?

We have skeeter and chigger bites a plenty,
We've got aches and toe cramps galore.
You want bags under your eyes - we've got 28.
But who cares? No big deal. We want more.

We want to be where the cabin leaders are.
Staying full summers and playing guitars,
Building camp fires and watching them, what's the word - BURN!
When's it our time? We want to learn and have cabins of our own,
Praying freely, wish we could be part of staff's world.

What would we give if we could live cabin to cabin?
What would we do to spend Wednesday dressed up so silly?
Bet you the staff, they get more treats, they get more cookies, brownies and cupcakes,
On the weekends when we're leaving they get left overs!

I wanna go on a hike to the bluff,
Eat lots of s'mores and go night swimming.
Frolicking around with our soft/silent H and making, what's the word - ART!

When's it our turn? We want to learn to be a member of camp staff.
We'll wait and see, maybe we'll be part of that staff!!!

*My friends and I wrote this at camp and performed it at our "no talent" talent show.
