County Fair

by AllHailTheHeartbreaker   Jul 26, 2005

Lights start flashing
At the local county fair
The radio's blasting
Through the smoke-filled air.

The hog barn gets quiet
As some teenagers pass by
Their laughter breaks the silence
As day turns to night.

There's a booth selling sweet corn
Buy two, one's half-price
Salt it for flavor
But sugar's twice as nice.

The tractor pull is wild
And the barrel racing's fine
The heat is pretty mild
But it gets hot at nine.

July's ending fast
And summer's flying by
The week has been a blast
And we all know why.
