The Thirteenth Cut

1 cut to close your eyes
2 cuts to breath
3 cuts to realize
It wasn't meant to be

4 cuts to numb the pain
5 cuts to bleed
6 cuts to cry in vain
Because you can't succeed

7 cuts to call the grave
8 cuts to burn
9 cuts to try to save
A life you didn't earn

10 cuts to hide a lie
11 cuts to scream
But it took that 13th cut to finally die
And the 12th cut to kill that one last dream
