Why Butterfly?

by AntiSocial16   Jul 31, 2005

Why little butterfly
Must you dwell inside
And keep me from living
The things I want to try
Can’t you find a flower
Or another to house you
‘Cause you stop me from doing
Things I want to do
Why little butterfly
Do you have to stay with me
Hover over someone else
For once just let me be
So please butterfly
Just go and fly away
And with you take my fears
That haunt me everyday
I promise I’ll be safe
And entirely secure
And I swear I’ll call you back
when I feel unsure
Just give me one chance
Without you by my side
Take the day off
Please butterfly

I don't think I made it clear, the butterfly is the one that sort of flies around your stomach when you're terrified or nervous about something.

Before I read the last line at the bottom I thought you were talking about parents and growing up but reading it over the second time I really saw what you were trying to say. I really liked the poem and the way you described the feeling of being nervous.
