Never meant to be

I told you I loved you,
You told me you loved me too.
You said we'd be together,
I was happy, but I knew.

You wouldn't be faithful to me,
And you wouldn't be there.
To hold my hand and smile at me,
Showing me you would actually care.

I saw the way you looked at her,
Smile at her with your greatest smiles.
The way you sat and talked to her,
Made me want to run for miles.

You treated her like she was your lover,
Like you and her were meant to be.
But you never ever even cared,
To at least once think about me.

When ever she was with you,
All your attention was on her.
You didn't take the time to see,
That my vision began to blur.

To you I cried my heart out,
Hoping you would also see.
The strong feelings I have for you,
But all you did was disagree.

You told me you didn't love me,
And you said that out loud and clear.
You told that it was all a lie,
Standing there as I shed a tear.

I wiped all the tears away,
Witnessing all what you've done.
I should have realized sooner,
That I was never going to be the one.
