My Mind is my Kingdom.

by Rick   Aug 2, 2005

My mind is the only place that I truly have a say
No one can stop my words, or try and take them away
It’s my one only place where I truly am alone
It is my kingdom where I sit upon my throne.

Its walls are high and mighty and the intruder count is none
No one dare approaches my kingdom, in fear of being hung
Each day the villagers rush out to gather supplies in packs
This is when were weak, as we watch for an enemy attack

On the return of the villagers, my jester yells in celebration
Another day has passed, and there’s still no sign of invasion.
Everything is great in my kingdom its future is looking well
Or at least the people think, until they hear the bell.

An intruder has approached the gates, the people cry
The new comer bangs heavily on the gates not at all being shy
The person is brought in to the throne room and appears to be a lady
A beautiful mistress with eyes so green and hair so wavy

I am queen of my kingdom and I seek an alliance
I bring you nothing but my body and pray for your compliance
My kingdom is in a roar of laughter and states we need no queen
However the king feels different about this matter, love hearts he is seeing

The jester whispers, she’s only after you for your money
The people don’t trust her, the situation smells funny
Not listening to the jesters words the king falls in love
I am so free he announces, like the birds up above
He asks her to marry him and the queen accepts his proposal
Use my kingdom he says, its yours at your disposal.

The queen sends for her items to celebrate her marriage
3 days later they are brought buy 19 horses and 19 carriage
Arrival of the carriages the gates of my kingdom are razed
1 by 1 they enter the court yard, people staring in a daze

As the gates are closed, the wagons begin to unload
Out jump armored men with rifles and sticks that explode
The enemy has breached the walls, all men fight for your life
But in one fast swipe the battle is ended by the thin slice of a knife
As the king drops to the floor holding his neck in pain
The queen moves about her knife and slices his neck again

My kingdom has fallen by the love of a lady
She had captured my heart with the intent to betray me
She knew of my weaknesses and had the attack planned out
My kingdom is in ruins, and my hearts flame has gone out.
