Fairy Tale Goodbye

That night, was one night I will never forget
One of those memories, you'll remember forever
And you'll have 1,000,000 regrets

As you stood there, looking me in the eyes
You whispered to me softly "I guess this is goodbye"

I acted like I did not care
But the tears I cried that following night
Were the feelings I could not share

I could of told you I still loved you
But it would have been harder to walk away
And I didn't want to make it any harder than I had to

There's so many things that we could have fixed
But we were so caught up in a "fairy tale" love
That we hadn't caught on to it

I remember when we thought we'd always be together
